For Dutchies who live in England or in any other English speaking country and for people who just like to speak the language.

All welcome.

There's tea and biscuits. Fish and chips, scones and pasties.

So far there are no native speakers, so mistakes will happen.

More than often in my case

Enjoy!

Ps, this thread might start off a bit funny because the moderator is going to copy some messages from another thread into this one.

As promised: tea and food..

Hi Iwannalive Don't be shy

Shebyte, it's a lot of fun to teach someone Dutch. I'm on skype twice a week with my parents and Scampman understands Dutch but he can't speak it.

He only knows Houdoe and oma (because my mom calls herself oma when she is talking to the dog)

A quarter English

Tejita, you can choose, it's either the mushy peas or shepherd's pie

Lilalinda, this thread started as another thread. Someone wanted to learn the language but she never came back to that thread. So we just continued speaking English.

I speak English all day so it's nice to just speak ''my own'' language with people who like to do that as well.

So she has a granddog, just like me.

Can I write with you ladies? I live in the Netherlands and I'm dutch, but I email with a friend in London. This is the perfect way to practise my writingskills in the Englisch language.

I do miss good bacon

Scamp I'll take neither haha

TV fanaat I love the geordish accent , not that I live anywhere near though.

Oh reading in other topic I thought the Dutch were coming over to build dykes and damms

For me this is good practice too. I've been living here for almost 2 years now (in June) but when I'm tired or in a lot of pain (chronically ill) I find it harder and I'll be looking for words all the time.

How Nice is this!

Half of my family is from the UK. As a kid I used to speak English quite well. Sadly my parents divorced and my English went a bit in hibernation.

Up until this day I have no probleme speaking English but writhing it...ouch Thats a hard one.

So if I will have me...

Lilalinda, that made me laugh. Yesterday morning, when we were walking the dog, I could smell toast and bacon everywhere.
