Hi scamp work was manic a bit again , day off tomorrow. No rest for the wicked though as IC decided he wants to go and paint the walls in the garden and I've got to get the paint as he can't drive at the moment due to an operation. I've been taxiing a lot lately
Lovely dog I would have said it was a springer too haha
Aw how sweet tangerine. Have you been to china?
It wasn't hard as before the UK we lived in a very sunny place together , worked hard and had lots of fun times. No time for missing family and friends are easily made in those places.
UC chick , you make me wander what kind of hobby it is you do

My experience with English people is that while you have people who are actually interested in what happens outside of Britain (who know that the Netherlands is the same as Holland) you also have the people who are not so interested. My boyfriends friends also had no idea where the Netherlands are. With all due respect, the only thing they care about is football and beer haha.
I think our country is just not so interesting for foreign people.

I love London as well. In the summer of 2013 I have been in London. I wanted to visit beautiful places but the heat (about 30 degrees) forced me to change my plan. In the morning I wandered through High Street Kensington, which is a street nearby my hotel. In the afternoon, it was way too hot, so I stayed inside my hotel room.
When the sun went down, or when I noticed the temperatures dropped, I went outside and went for the places like Westminster, Big Ben, Tower Bridge, Hyde Park, Trafalgar Square and other beautiful things of London. A rememorable place!

My best wishes to IC Tejita!
No purple walls though
I'm having an appointment with a surgeon on Friday.
I'm scared to death because every time I come back from hospital I tell Scampman that I never never never want to be admitted in an English hospital.
They are so... well.. Dutch hospitals in the 50's comes closest for me
And I might need an operation on my shoulder.
Anyone ever been admitted to an English hospital?

It's probably the English way of saying that the place sucks and is bloody boring.
I'd kill a cat for a good old English breakfast. Mmmm with a bit of garlic on the tomatoes. A scone with clothed cream for dessert. But I'm in Holland now so I'll have a sandwich with peanut butter and a glass of fresh orange juice instead.
Have a lovely day my love

Somehow I trust English books more than Dutch books. Possibly because most scientific articles are written in English. In case of Ukrainian, I failed to find a Dutch book about it, so I bought an English book.
But I do think that as a language Dutch is not inferior to English.

@lamaatje i'll keep an eye on you and your English
But even though I do notice spelling and grammar mistakes it is more important that everyone understands what you are saying. And believe me, everyone will understand you. My pupils make mistakes that are much much worse!
I also love your video elfje! Perhaps I might use it in class to explain the difference to my pupils. I also hate it when they say they are from Holland instead of The Netherlands. And we dont live in north or south holland.

For Tyche, these are some photo's I took when on Holiday last year.
This is about 4 miles from home. (Ricochet might recognize some )

I know. She was right though. You can say: I'm almost off to work.
Just off to work means she's already gone to work.Grammatically it is correct but I have never heard anybody say it in that way, perhaps they say it in Yorkshire like this all the time :.)

Did you read my other post about joining in? Without just correcting people?
